Looking into the future the Pelican feeding its young from a self-induced wound in its own
breast (as depicted, mysteriously, on the state flag of Louisiana) is accepted as an
appropriate symbol of both self-sacrifice and rebirth. Through his selfless efforts, man is
raised from the slavery of ignorance to the condition of freedom conferred by wisdom.
Given the current state of affairs in Louisiana, one hopes that the understanding of the Pelican
as a symbol shall point the way towards a new consciousness of ourselves as a whole, and lead us
to face our futures with strength, grace, wisdom and faith, to learn from our mistakes and carry
our successes and zest for living to future generations.

Dear Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana 2007,
The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) is a sham- fraud, and is a sad tragedy for those of us who love and are dedicated to the restoration of our beloved coast in the Pelican State of Louisiana.
Why?
Just like every other bone in our corporate government, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) is controlled and manipulated by the multinational Shell Oil Company, and in this case specifically thru its puppet America Wetlands.
Even
Mr. Bill has enough moral integrity to forsake America Wetlands as a sponsor, because
America Wetlands is actually a Shell for Shell Oil Company that has so devastated Louisiana's coast.
Yet, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) brags about being in cahoots with Shell on their
home page website, proudly displaying the America Wetlands logo(Shell Oil Company) as their partner in crime.
"Partner in Crime?"
Is Save Our Wetlands (SOWL) stating the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) and Shell Oil Company are committing a crime?
Well yes-figuartively speaking.
SOWL states it's a crime the that Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) says and does nothing about Shell's moral and financial responsibility to correct the devastating erosion caused by the more than 10,000 miles of navigational channels and
oil company canals recklessly dug thru Louisiana wetlands.
SOWL tried to get a
resolution passed thru the 2006 Louisiana legislative session authorizing a study on this issue and praised Louisiana Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell for speaking out on this subject. Louisiana needs more politicians like Foster Campbell.
The damage wrought upon Louisiana by the oil and gas industry is
no secret.
It's no secret unless you are a member of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) or
big oil favorite U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu or
cypress forest clear cut puppet U.S. Senator David Vitter
or Rep. Bobby Jindal, or Louisiana Governor Foster or Blanko or Louisiana State Attorney General Charles Foti.
And it's no secret, the damage done by these more than 10,000 miles of navigational channels and oil company canals dug thru Louisiana wetlands by Shell Oil Company and its greasy allies can be repaired. All the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) has to do is ask Professor Dr. Eugene Turner of LSU School of Coastal Studies.
One of the leading members of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) is the president of a bank. This individual has been a tireless and energetic voice in the community on the necessity of restoring Louisiana's coast. But how impossible it must be for the King of a bank to demand the oil empire of Shell Oil Company to fork up $$ for the damage Shell has wrought upon Louisiana's disappearing coast. But then again maybe it's not impossible? But we can't wait too long, or the whole dam state will will be floating into the Gulf of Mexico.
SOWL issues the following challenge to each member of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) :
Come up with a plan and demand that Shell Oil Company and its allies take responsibility and dedicate $$ to repair the erosion done by their more than 10,000 miles of navigational channels and oil company canals dug thru Louisiana wetlands, and SOWL will change labeling the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana(CPRA) as "sham-fraud-tragedy" to "respect-honor-hope".
